The other way to achieve your goal is to find a ServerGuide CD that supports the old Netfinity, these CD's have the serveraid program bundled in.
I doubt you will find an old version on the IBM support Site
First there is a lot of doco on boot from SAN for IBM Blade Centers on the IBM Redbook Site
I've never done this but tech's who have talk of the following
The symptom you describe is sometimes cause when using dual HBA's. Basically disable one of the HBA's , load the system, install the...
You will need to trunk to balance the load out.
The fact it is in a blade centre is not relevant. Consider it a normal cisco switch connected to your network with 8 servers connected
My guess would be a mis-match between the serverguide and your bios levels.
You don't have to use server guide to load the system, normally it just makes things easy.
Create your arrays, then load the serverraid driver during the OS install.
I have seen this exact problem on an x366 using...
I'm not real clear on how your network is configured but I assume that the FTP server is on the external port of the firewall. In that case it is probably easier to Nat the internal hosts otherwise you will need routes on the FTP box for the packets to find there way back to the trusted port. By...
Have issues getting a 4 server Novell custer on IBM Blade Servers function with Cisco switches configured for etherchannel.
Does anyone have a link to doco on this type of install.
FYI
There are windows servers in the blade chassis that work fine with the etherchannel config. The current...
Update express was hoplessly out of date, IBM have released a latter version , but I suggest you download the latest BIOS and ServerRaid Firmware and try again.
Also make sure you are running the Windows Driver for the riad card which matches the firmware level of the card.
Have you tried load...

As long as you can physically mount the extra disk and have the right SCSI cable you can add capacity to your 4LX adaptor.
First thing to do is update the firmware and windows drivers to the lastes levels (you may as well do the system Bios at the same time)
Ghost is very hit and miss...
Thanks for the input.
I understand the issues with the applications and that full versions of Exchange, SQL, Etc have to be installed. We are going to pilot the process. I guess that I know I can always build a new Domain, then use the various Microsoft migration tools, but the issue to get...
I've been looking and just can't find a good document or procedure to upgrade from Windows SBS2000 domain to a Windows 2003 Standard Edition Domain.
One interesting thing I have seen is that you can connect a second DC to the SBS server (using the Standard Edition of Win2000 Server) . I was...
It is probably a version conflict between the different versions of OExpress on each machine. Try upgradeing OExpress on the 98 machine to the same level as the XP machine. At one point MS changed the way mail was stored in OExpress which you can tell because the file extension is different...
Yes
Ibm uses a bootable disk called SERVERGUIDE, which is like the smartstart CD from Compaq, you can download it but is about a 600mb ISO image

The simplest way to do this is to have the users mail in a .pst file under outlook, then after you have set up exchange add the .pst to the outlook profile, that way the exchange set-up is clean, and if you want you can drop and drag from the .pst to the exchange mailbox.
really depends how many...
The simple answer is you can block these programs using a Firewall, but you will have to pay for anything usefull.
The other way is to use group policies or restrict the users rights on the local pc's so they don't have install permissions.
N.B this of course won't work on Win9x
I have read the discussion on how Outlook archives mail based on the last modified date. My problem is that the client does a brick level backup which changes the last modified date and auto archive doesn't select any files.
One solution I read was to create an Inbox rule based on recieved date...
In theory the Raid controller will not care about the speeds of the drives, you can for example build a raid config with 18gb 10k disks and 36gb 15k disks , the only limiltation is that it will only use 18gb of the 36gb.
Our expaeriance with local IBM Storage support is that firmware levels etc are important, I would suggest you look at loading latest Firmware ETC to the Fast and also look at the hard disk firmware levels
