On my event viewer I get a DCOM error "Overlapp I/O operation is in progress" and was unable to logon <domain name>e/manager in order to run the server.
I can't find a solution to this on the internet, any ideas
Thanks
I set up the network properly and most of the time it works well. However on occasion the client cannot access the network and I get an error message "<domain name>not accessible. Sometimes when try it again several times it connects. Could this be a DNS problem or a cable problem?
Thanks
I set up a domain on our network. When I join a client to the domain and have to reboot the clients computer (for whatever reason), I get "The local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively".
From here I use a special recovery disk to be able to logon locally...
We have a VPN setup at work. When configuring the client, I have it pointing the the external IP address of the firewall. It finds the server after that.
My event viewer indicates a DCOM error "Logon Failure:unknown username or password" and was unable to logon <domainname>\emanager in order to run the server.
I tried resetting the password for emanager but it didn't help. I didn't use the same password, could that be the problem?
Thanks
In my event viewer I get two error messages and I am not sure what they mean.
1. DCOM got error"Logon Failure: the specified account password has expired and was unable to logon <Domain Name\emanager> in order to run the server.
2. The session setup from the computer <Computer Name>...
An ex-employee put office XP on their computer that is running Windows 2000. It's messing things up and I want to remove it. I don't have the disk. Any suggestions?
Thanks
I've installed a VPN system which is working properly. The problem is that that when one of the client computers reboots,it completely losses the ability to log on (either as administrator or as the user). I have to completely reinstall the operating system. I don't have a clue what it could be...
I inadvertently deleted a client from the server. I realize the sid could no longer be used. How can I change the sid on the client so I could rejoin the domain.
I set up a VPN through RRAS in the server. I configured the client to connect through the VPN. I receive an error message : Client does not have permission to dial in.
I gave permission to dial in under the account user name in users and computers. I also allowed everyone to have access to this...
Couple of things I think you can do:
- Go to the website of the firewall mfr and see if they have a procedure for setting up the firewall VPN. My Watchguard SOHO has good instructions for this.
- Dissable VPN in the firewall (if possible)so that you will simply route through it.
Again...
I'm not sure what SBS is, but I have a similar setup. However, my firewall does not have the VPN setup on it.
What I've done was set up the two nic cards to talk through Internet Connection Sharing (I assume you did this, if not, I'll explain that too, it could be tricky). I used Routing and...
I set up a VPN and made connectivity but now the network losses the internet connection. I think it has something to do with filtering. There are 5 filters that are used for the VPN but I read somewhere that additional filters are needed to connect to the internet. Anyone have any idea what...

I'm trying to set up a VPN to one remote client. The client was set up correctly. Routing seems to be correct. The problem is when I try to connect and I put in a username and password I get a error message "Account does not have permission to dial in. Thanks

I have three nic cards in the server. The external card has a static IP address. The second nic card was to be used for the internal network (Set for dhcp). I enabled ICS but instead of a static IP address being assigned to this nic card, it got assigned to the third nic card (which was...
