Hello,
This problem keeps plaguing me and I really wish there was an easy solution. Hence, this post.
I have a server farm of 4 terminal servers/citrix servers. Users keep downloading and installing software. This causes problems from various angles and I simply want to restrict them from...
i think it is fixed, though the only true measure is that it still works a week from now - so i'll keep monitoring it.
in my situation, we were getting "message not processed due to insufficient memory" -eventid 12800 in the eventviewer. this was due to the fact that we had too much...
Addendum to last post -
duh! i found where to view the logs - in the eventviewer. i recommend turning logging onto the maximum level if you want to see everything that is happening.

Xybertron,
I enabled the logging and am currently trying to figure out how to view the log (i.e. where is it created, where i go to see it, etc).
As far as sending an email to the new user's in order to create the mailbox, i have never found this to work.
I sent 3 from outside their exchange...
Guys,
I am experiencing the same problems as described above. And before i try the obvious reapplication of ServicePack and reboot, i would like to know how to "turn up logging on the MSExchangeAL" as Xybertron put it. I've found no place to enable logging of that service...
The folder <wherever your OOo installation is>\user\config\registry\instance\org\openoffice\office needs to have write access by ordinary users. Users will then be able to execute any openoffice application.
hello all,
thanks for your wonderful suggestions. they kicked off the right path for i've finally figured out what was best for our client here.
as far as getting open office to run, it's screwy. i had to put them in the power users group so they had elevated priveleges. open office...
sonnysavage-
thanks for the suggestion, but i don't even have java installed on a server i'm testing this on and the administrator account works fine but the reg user doesn't, so i'm doubting it's a java setting.
i think your suggestion to copmare user priveleges between reg user and...
I have a somewhat strange problem.
W2K with terminal services enabled in application mode. I've installed open office. When logging in as administrator i can run open office just fine. But if i log in as a regular user - as members of the Users group only, it will not run any office program...

I just ghosted a citrix 1.8 server (SP3) running on NT Termserver 4 (SP6) from one that works to another with an almost identical hardware config.
After doing so, everything works fine, except on the ghosted image, i can launch citrix server administation, it never shows anything about itself...
i thought that blew it away. at least that's how it was in 6.61.
no, i haven't, but i will. at this point, i'd rather have a working database than a suspect one.

ARCSERVE2000, SP3 on Win NT4 server SP6a
after finally figuring out why dbcheck wouldn't work, i put the correct syntax in and i ran it. it worked on one server, but another clients' server throws this "failed to start consistency check for database - error 39" when running dbcheck -a...
Thanks shackdaddy and bp1169! those are both great suggestions and after trying them, i'm farily certain my registry on the server is corrupted. luckily i have a server farm and can ghost an existing one to this one, newSIDD, change name, rejoin domain, etc. this will work, eliminate this...
I've had similar problems before and the best way to deal with it, if this is possible, is to unplug the server from the network and reboot it. and if you can unplug all the connected workstations from the hub, do that too. make sure the server is the only one rebooting on the hub-network, let...
Hello,
I have a terminal server NT 4 running Citrix and i want to put it into production.
Users connect via WYSE terminals and use a terminal server desktop to do their work (email, surf internet, run apps, etc) I wanted to prevent any domain user from installing software on their...
