I have a netware client where on running the gui to do a recovery I have a directory which will not allow me to browse the contents.

Anyone got any idea's what the <RES>...
It's also worth noting that there are dependencies, so even is a saveset should have passed it's browse and retention, the volume may not recycle if savesets on other tapes are relying on it due to their dependencies on it.

Are you running any sort of scanning / virus checking on the netware box?
Also as this is in a cluster are you failing between the two, check out if you are writting to the correct virtual index, if not this could be why you are seeing this problem.
Make sure your cluster is set up correctly...
Unfortunately anyone found discussing exams after they have taken them can be stripped of their accreditation if discovered, thus I dont think anyone will want to discuss this in detail.
Sorry

Sounds simply like a resource problem / Network traffic.
If on a retry the backup then completes then I would suggest that legato is doing exactly as it should be.
this really does sound environment / resource esq

Help Please
We have in our wisdom upgraded to 7.3, only to find that we ned an update enabler, licencing is closed and we are unable to get the enabler code.
Does anyone please have the update enabler code so that I can at least get my backup server up and running, I can get it authorised once...
if you moved from HP/UX to windows you would straight away loose all historic information.
Why you can move the meta data from one server to another, and it "may" work, this is not supported by legato.
Pros
Cost
Easily managable
Cons
Throughput of a windows server is going to be less than a...
You can't do this on the client only from legato, the index's are owned by the backup server thus are secured on the backup server only, and are only backed up by the backup server.
Why would you want to do it like that anyway?

We use it at my place and it's vastly improved over the years.
speak to your vendor and see if you get get one on trial and give it a go.
Why are you thinking of OFM any way are you backing up a db or just a file server where lots of files may be open?

There is a bug fix 1Y21894 XMALLOC does not reuse freed memory efficiently This fix is about 300MB in size
I think this is a AIX bug NOT networker

Hi,
Disable the CD Rom drive , I know there have been some problems with jukeboxes when legato sees a cdrom at scsidev@0.0.0.
Not the ideal solution, but I wouldn't imagine you use the cdrom for that much to be honest if this is simply a backup server.
good luck

This is expected behaviour.
The reason behind it is that if a volume has expired / is available for recycling, when this is used agin the volume will be over written, therefore you will only ever read the data from the tape, not "Append" anymore data to it, so Legato sets it to read only.
