I have a technical problem with Freehand, and I need a hand. I've recent seen my last advertisement (made with freehand) in a magazine, and I've seen that imported images (tiffs or jpegs) have much less resolution than the originals when the advertisement document is printed by magazine people...
Hello:
I'm a programmer and I'm working as a programmer of a commercial application made in VB that uses MS Access. Recently some clients are refering to us because their DBs stop going on. We tell them to send it to us, and when we open the DBs it appears the following error (I'm spanish and...
Hi!
Somebody knows which DLLs are rewritten when reinstall Win98 over an existing Win98??? Every DLLs??? Deletes the DLLs that are not Win98 property???
This is because when I install a program made by me, and whose installer is made using InstallShield, it crashes windows (Dll errors...
Hi Mainegeek:
- It would be so dangerous to try to install in the machine we use to program (and create exes), because if it crashes the system we'll have to reinstall a lot of things, and first do a very careful backup.
- We've tried, as you said, to make installshield put the DLL's into...
We make exes in a machine with Win 2000, VB 6 (service pack 4) and Install Shield 3, and then when we install it in Win 98 we've got 2 problems:
1) When we make the setup program of our app the instalation it looks ok, but when we install and then reboot it appears: "RUNDLL -> Error...
Buffff!
I didn't know that. It's terrible because the type of clients I have don´t know anything about computers, and I'm afraid to say to them: "find a newer version of your BIOS and flash it!" or simply "tell what is your BIOS model"... Well, I think it would be better for...
Hi!
I make an application made in Visual Basic that prints tickets in a ticket printer on COM. This is what happens: When VB tries to open the port with "portopen" it always returns false, but if I delete the COM and create it again then the instruction portopen works (till I reinit...
Hi Svanels!
I've sent you a couple of e-mails, for you to send me the BD in access mode, although it's not correct, so that I can browse the accessable data, because perhaps it's enough for me...
Well, tell me anything, please (the client it's getting nervous)
Thanks a lot friend
Cheers.
Wow, Svanels! Then at last you could open it!
Well, It is usually difficult to translate veterinary data, because it's often very dark, and user applications are very strange. Just tell me how to open it and I'll do the rest (we just need certain tables, not all of them).
Then, you say that...
Hi Svanels:
Sorry about the delay, but my boss took more time to come back from Portugal.
It would be very difficult for the client to do the backup, because he doesn´t know anything about computers, and as I don´t know exactly how interbase works and its appearance it would be difficult for...
Hello Svanels!
I didn´t forget you: It's just that my boss have gone away to Portugal till next week's Monday and he told me to wait until he speaks with the client (he'll see him there I suppose).
Cheers
Wow, guys!
I've been so amazed today when I came into the forum and see all these posts... You've really broke your head trying to find the solution... I'm really impressed. Thanks.
Svanels, your offer is really yummy, but first you must know that the DB is 8 Mbytes long, so I can´t send you...
There was no luck!
IbAccess told exactly the same error. It doesn't even let me validate or repair de DB (the process never ends).
Bufff! this appear to be very ugly!!!
Hi Opp!
You're right. It would be a great way to make a DB repair for free, but it's not such case, because my boss was in Portugal for a trip the weekend before, and checked the application, and it worked correcly. I wish the trouble was a corrupt DB, so I could forget this Interbase history...
Hi Svanels!
This is the story:
I work in a small company that is developer of a management app for veterinary clinics. This app uses Access for its DB.
Often, there are new clients that want to buy our program, and we have to migrate the data from their old programs to ours, and of course...
Hi Opp and Svanels:
I've dowloaded and tried Datapump, but it told the same error "Unsupported on-disk structure for file C:\VETDADOS.GDB: found 8, support 10" when I test it as source DB with Datapump. I think the clue is to have installed and old Interbase, so that the driver ODBC...
Hi again Opp:
Well, I've downloaded the 6.0 Version, because I've read in the link you gave me that the problem could be that in 6.01 version and perhaps in further versions, they've dropped the possibility of opening old formats.
The ODBC driver is a bit different and it appear to go further...
Hi Opp:
Thanks for your quick answer. I don´t know exactly the version of this GDB file, but it is the BD of an application that has been used for several years (so it couldn´t be very new), and I download the latest trial version (from Interbase home page) of Interbase to do this. The fact is...
Hello:
Does anyonwe know what does exactly means this error in Interbase?:
Unsupported on-disk structure for file C:\VETDADOS.GDB: found 8, support 10
The GDB file is supposed to be OK, so why I cannot open it with Interbase ODBC driver, so I can migrate it to the format I want (Access to be...
Ah, ok!
The version is 2.1 and the release 218A.
The problem is that I don't know the version of Clarion with which was made the application that generated the data I want to migrate to Access, and I can´t discover it... The fact is that the Exe file (the Clarion application) was last...
