That's what I have said in my latest support ticket...
As for hosting on windows, I have no choice on the package I have. I will be looking elsewhere though, and it's just inertia that has stopped me from doing so previously (Too many domains to move and too little time.)
As for the Mysql...
UPDATE: Useless to55ers at the hosting company "solved" this problem for me by upgrading to PHP 5.3.13. This has now rendered my entire website useless as I cannot connect to the MySQL database.
The first test responded with a 1 for both file exists and is writeable.
the errors reported by the second suggestion, follows. (I've removed the domain name)

Hi,
I have a website which has an admin area 'protected' by a log in script and the checking of session variables. It has been working fine for months, I have not dabbled with this website for ages, so it's not a coding problem. I'm guessing something has changed at the hosting company that has...

I haven't figured out why this is happening, but I have found a solution.
If you create the share from a command prompt (admin mode) using net share, then it appears as you would expect.

Thanks for the explanation Adahacker.
It's all well and good finding out the "right way" to do things, but i like to understand why. Otherwise I'd never learn it and fall into the same problem six months down the line.
It makes sense now, the reason for it not working i mean. I don't think...
Thanks for the detailed responses, have a star!
just one thing...
Does this mean i should be able to do something along the lines of...?
$i=$hcap-($this->si;
switch($i){
case > 17:
return 2;
break;
case >= 0...
thanks spookie, that does indeed work.
But would you mind enlightening me as to why my version didn't?
I'm not sure i understand your use of TRUE, either :-s , not particularly intuitive (the switch function i mean!). Found no reference or mention of it being used like that on the PHP...
Please help, this is driving me nuts!
Can anybody spot a difference/something wrong with either of these? In case you haven't already guessed, the switch statement doesn't resolve like i'd expect it to. The nested if does fine though.
The specific problem comes when $hcap-$this->si (should)...

<!--[if IE]>
<style>
div.fluid{
width:100%;
}
</style>
<![endif]-->
and it'll need to go after your link to the original css
