Are you using McAfee anti virus? If you are try turning it off during the backup. I had this problem with Netware 5 and Arcserve. Also, Arcserve has a push agent that seems to speed up the backup.

Pooq Are you using any Anti Virus software? If you are, unload it and try the backup. I had the same problem that you are having when I used McAfee. I changed to Norton and the problem went away
