Check your server whether it can resolve the mx record of mailgate02.ABC.CO.UK first.
Then, you should try whether you can send a mail to mailgate02.ABC.CO.UK with telnet (use port 25).
Also, I don't think you can ping their server as their firewall block it always.
You can restore to another server, however, you must use the same series of RAID controller (same driver in w2k). Also, you can restore the SYSTEM STATE if you use same host name.
Hi,
I had spent quite a long time to find the solution:
1. You need to change Names.nsf user document to no preference. Since you can see a red box, I think you have already done it.
2. Use LN client 5.0.10 or above if you access internet through proxy server. There is a known bug in LN client...
In names.nsf, select a user document-->mail-->format preference for incoming mail --> select no preferece.
In user workstation, choose "Notes with Internet Explorer".
There is a document is Lotus website but I forget the link. You can get more information there.
We have so many input/output errors in daemon.log everyday also. However, after my investigation, I found that all of these errors are because the Networker server issue two “nsrjb” commands at exactly the same time. How can they expect a tape library load two tapes simultaneously even I have...
Hi,
Do St.Bernards open file manager ver 8.0 support Lotus Notes online backup? You can check it in LN website. Also, have you tried to uninstall the anti virus software before the backup(it is worth to try only after you confirm your backup software support LN online backup).
Remember to exclude the zero byte file:
F:\Lotus\Domino\Data\cluster.ncf. Some save set will mark as "Abort" if you forget to exclude any zero byte file. In Networker manual, they told you their software can bypass all zero file, but it is not correct.
If you backed up LN database in file level, then you can only restore it with normal NW client.
You need to backup the LN database with LN module --"nsrnote.bat", afterward you can restore it.
I guess it is a software bug.
I can backup our Lotus Notes server (5.0.6a)with LN BSM 2.0 before we upgrade it to LN server version 5.0.8. The backup cannot start now. However, I can run the backup in our testing machince (same backup software, OS and antivirus). Strange???

Hi,
RSM = Removable Storage service
Go to Eventviewer and check if there is any RSM error. Legato do not compatible with RSM enabled. Please refer to the Legato Networker Admin Guide.
Make sure you have disabled the RSM service in your W2K server. I find the some error in daemon.log everyday but no any problem in our daily operation.
In my enviroment, I need to write a perl script which detect several groups completion status and then clone all the save set. At the end of the script, it issue a "nsrjb -u" Networker command to eject all tapes from drives.
