out of the blue i can't burn cd's anymore.. and when i click on the drive w/ an empty cd in it Windows XP gives this error: "X:\ Is not accessible, Incorrect function". i can however still burn cd's using Picasa, that is the only thing i installed lately and i believe that i causing the...
smah had it correct about what the question was... but i tried that and it doesn't work (my host runs Apache/1.3.31 if that matters).
so i want to "protect" my directories but i do want to have files accessible like my graphics, when i put what smah says in my .htaccess i get a error 500...

like said, nothing changed that i know of.. for the time being i gave the pc that has the printer connected a static IP and point to there, hopefully that will keep working.
still ideas and/or tips are welcome..
yep, still on (just rechecked). i'm rebooting one of the pc in the hope the printer still works (directed it to the IP instead of pc name), if it works i guess i will have to live /w the mystery and give that pc a static ip.
the pc connected to the printer can print w/ no problem, host and share-name have not changed. like said i can connect by opening a Windows Explorer and type the IP, but if i try to add a printer and type the IP it won't work.
the printer does not have it's own IP, the pc has a static IP and i believe the other pc's "look" for the pc/printer name, it worked for at least a year w/o a issues.
this is just weird... if i open a Windows Explorer window and type in the IP of the pc that has the printer i can see the printer, see the properties and print. when i after that go back to "Printers and Faxes" it's unable to connect and i can't do any of the previous mentioned things, what is...

programs and/or users.. is this possible remotely ? i have the feeling something fishy is going on w/ my Linux RedHat 9.1 box, can i scan check from the "outside" ?
thanks in advance.
i'm using Menalto's (http://gallery.menalto.com) galleries on multiple web sites of mine and since a few weeks i'm having issues, somethings wrong w/ the php (i believe), is anybody willing to read through my php.ini if i mail the user name & password ?
thanks

i used Radmin for a while but it will expire in a few days.. anyway i can connect using the Remote Desktop Connection from XP Pro (using the pc's ip, pc name doesn't work but that's ok), does RDC have some sort of 'quiet' mode so users don't see i'm "looking in" ?
don't worry, my users...
