Any recommendations for the following scenario?
I need a script that converts a single IP address to a hostname. This IP address is located in several different files in different directories.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
the previous posts have some good information...
If you could get your hands on a Catalyst 5000 series switch that would help too!
When your preparing for the CCNP exam do NOT leave out 'Building Scalable Cisco Networks'...
that's my two cents
to elaborate on 'check the cable'...
make sure you are using a rolled cable.
the cable you are using should match the picture of
a rolled cable in the following document.

if you are using a straight-through cable it will not work.
take care...
You need two routers due to the ethernet inface situation previously mentioned...
The 2501 only provides you with one ethernet interface, period.
Unless you're up to a fancy configuration involving the 'AUX' port, you will need another router and a cable.
With only one cisco 2501 router...
I read the course material for my CCNP studies. cisco press books are generally well written and I would recommend them to anyone who is interrested in learning the material. the reality is that competency is more than just scoring well on a bunch of multiple choice questions.
take care...
here's a re-run for you...
go for remote access first, CIT is a recap of previous material combined with limited new material.

!sample router config
!
hostname C2500-R3
!
ipx routing 0000.0c3e.36ce
!
interface Ethernet0
ip address 180.234.34.129 255.255.255.128
ip ospf priority 0
ipx network 34...
