    Remote shutdown.

    When you are connected by Remote Desktop to your other machine, you press CTRL-ALT-END. It brings up the Windows Task Manager on the remote machine, and you can use the Shutdown from the Menu to turn off the remote computer. Hope this is simpler for you..

    On most Compaq machines you press F10 when you see the blinking cursor in the top right corner.. Then you can access your bios to set the boot preferences.. Hope this helps..

    Constant rebooting

    You can turn off the auto reboot in the properties of "My Computer>Advanced>Startup and Recovery. De-Select Automatically Restart. Of course, then it will likely give you a BSOD instead of rebooting, but you'll be able to get the error code of the crash. Jim

    Dunno if this will help, but you may want to remove the cards from the system so that it boots with only the video.. then add 1 card at a time until the error shows up.. You may then be able to determine what is causing the problem. Sounds like it's loading a driver that it don't like... Jim

    No, I don't think it's the screensaver. I run webshots as a screensaver, and even before it starts (set for 15 minutes), Xp will just log the current user out to the user login menu where there are 4 users to select from. Jim
