Hi,
As subject, we're preparing to deploy Win7 clients soon. However, no plan to upgrade our AD to 2008. Are there any template for Windows 7 which can be used in GPMC with 2003 domain?

Thanks for thoughtful analysis!!
However, I have no luck with Godaddy. Since I run my OWA with ".com.hk" domain. Its far more expensive if I really apply a SS-Cert from HK's CA.
So that's why I hope someone can show me the procedure on how I can renew the SS-cert from my internal CA (running...
Thanks for all valuable comments. I would probably take a look at the IIS resources-kit solution. Since I am running the Win2k3 Std and Exchange Std 2k3 server.
That would be a good solution, but I would prefer to keep using my own CA to issue the Self-signed cert. Just not so sure the exact procedure on how..!! Hope someone can help.
Hi,
Just realized the self-signed cert is about to expire within 10 days. Is there any way I can renew my self-signed cert without removing the existing one and losing any uptime of Exchange 2k3?
Any advice is appreciated!!

Since I have implemented File Server Resource Manager on our new Windows 2003 r2 STD server I am getting these cryptic errors every day (during the Backup exec is executing the job).
I tried to re-initiate a new scan using the quota management command line tool. But the problem still exists...
i loaded the setup again from the CD, it showed action only "Typical , Minimum & Custom" at the top row, and "None & Install" on the ESM Tools. i just couldn't find action "remove"???
I installed the Exchange 2003 Management Tools on my XP Pro(SP2) machine but am reconfiguring it for use elsewhere so need to remove them. So far I have managed to remove the tools themselves but I cannot seem to get rid of the entry within Add/Remove Programs.
Can anyone help me completely...
We are going to migrate our NT4 to 2k3 very soon, and we want our A.D forest trusting with headquarter forest from oversea.
The question is that can we do the Forest-Trust with headquarter, on the other hand we create an external-trust with our existing NT4 domain. Since we still need to keep...
i tried to update the software v6.1 to my two 4400 switches which are stacked together. it seems the unit one is completed the upgrade process and the Power-test LED became solid. However i found that the Power-test LED on my second unit is still flashing for more than few hours up to this...
By the time i establish the failover platform i should have each of them (as many as i can..) a tight policy that limited the usage of outlook PST.
However, i still have no any practical conclusion from above. Actually those 3rd party solution like Double Take or WANSync (i prefered) is too...
We have about 65 users here.
Asking them not to keep everything in PST is one of the most biggest challenge here. Even our BOSS is the top record keeper...over 15GB. Actually they don't even want you to touch their "Delted item".., it is our company culture and style :-( .
So standard version...
Marc, thanks for your comment.
It seems one of the better solution is to build a SECOND mail server (SMTP/POP) by using "POSTFIX or SENDMAIL" on Linux platform. And have all users account setup into the same Outlook profile.
Jason
Yes, you both are right.
It's really a bad idea keeping email in users' PST. However the situation is that i'm working for a real heavy email traffic company.
However..., it's not quite possible to store their email data in our Exhchange server since a large number of users are hosting 5 -...
Something forgot to mention is that we'll have each of the outlook user setup an additional outlook profile which pointing to secondary Exchange server. In case of any happened with primary, we'll ask our users to switch the outlook to the other profile.
Hi all,
i am looking for a cheap/manual failover solution. Actually we do not keep email on the server mailbox, all incoming emails we're diverted to user's personal folder PST.
What if i install a second exchange server within the same ORG on a differnt machine. On the other hand we create an...
Thanks you guys all the comments above!!
Thought the better way is to move Exchange out of DC controller first.
Secondly XOsoft WANSync for Exchange seems a good solution. When disaster strike, it may immediately be rerouted to Exchange server replicas.
HP DL380G4 with 2GB, 4*145GB/U320 RAID-5 running on Win2k3/R2 STD server. And this would be the only server we have in the office providing File/Print/Exchange mail services and A.D controller (all-in-one).
