    a+ 4 real , myers, A+ can I?

Yvonne, I agree with schase on the expensive training. From my experience, you don't get your money's worth. As for your main question - "Where can I find a focused study outline?" You might take a look at this on-line training to get you started...

Can UserA forward UserB's email without logging in as UserB?

That might be OK if it was a 1 time modification. This is a weekly event rotating between "on-call" managers. I'm looking for a solution that allows the secretary to do this, not the Exchange Admin. Thanks

Can UserA forward UserB's email without logging in as UserB?

System: Exchange 2000 server - Office XP Outlook clients. I have a manager who gives her secretary her login password so that the secretary can login as the manager to create a rule to forward the manager's email to the "on call" manager. Is there a way the secretary can do this without logging...

    Remote Monitoring

For pinging - I use a free utility called FreePing. Intall it as a service so it continues to run when no one is logged into the server. http://www.tools4ever.com/products/free/

    Drive mapping reconnect issue

Maybe you've done this already but have you tried mapping the problem drive letter to a valid network path and checking the box to Reconnect at logon? Reboot to see if the error has gone. Then, if desired, Disconnect the network drive.

    Windows 2000 Pro/SP4 Problems - I Need Help!

I'd be cautious with the slipstream approach also since you won't be able to uninstall SP4. To make the user an Administrator: Login as a user who already has administrator rights, right mouse click on My Computer, select Manage. Under System Tools click the + sign in front of Local Users and...

spool file takes really long time to reach printer

In the Printer Properties under the Advanced tab, have you experimented with the "Spool print documents..., Start Printing immediately" option? Or possibly the "Print directly to the printer" option? Although, this option may tie up the pc creating the print job. Are these...

Scheduled Tasks: Notify Me of Missed Tasks DOESN'T

Far as I can tell it's supposed to send a pop-up message. It doesn't work on my copy of Win2k Pro either. Task scheduler keeps a log of completed/failed tasks at c:\winnt\SchedLgU.txt which may be useful in your monitoring. Here's my theory on system monitoring for what it's worth. I would...

Try this: for /R c:\mytif %%G in (*.tif) DO xcopy "%%G" e:\ /y Caution: The /y parameter does an automatic overwrite so if you have duplicate filenames the last file copied wins.

Outlook XP takes approximately 2-4 seconds to open messages

I'm assuming email is slow to open for any user who logs into the computer. What versions of Outlook and Exchange Server are you running? Have you monitored Task Manager, Processes sorted by CPU to see what is utilizing the CPU during these 2-4 seconds while the email is opening?

Need to set-up HP970cxi printer - Newbie here!!

I can't help with your linux problem but I do have a suggestion. Have your computer "wiz" put Windows XP back onto your computer. Linux is probably not the best OS for a newbie. Then get your "wiz" a cheap used computer to experiment with linux on. You'll save yourself...

    Managing services from Command line.

Have you looked at using instsrv.exe and srvany.exe. Get these files from the Windows Resource Kit CD or the NT 4.0 version can be found at multiple sites on the web. The NT4 version works with Win 2000 and supposedly XP. Take a look at MS Article # 137890 on how to use this...

Access query criteria using Like, wildcard and fieldname

I've run into another snag. This Access 2002 query works on some computers but not others even though they have the same version of Office. On the computers that fail, I receive the error "Undefined function 'Environ' in expression." when I try to run the query. The help file says...

Access query criteria using Like, wildcard and fieldname

But this works... By using Environ("username") instead of LoggedInUser in the where clause it now works. Not sure why. Maybe the computed column LoggedInUser isn't calculated until after the query executes?? SELECT table1.path, Environ("username") AS LoggedInUser FROM...
