    Thanks Rollie for the input. If I knew VB I would be asking specific questions about it not about Access. That is why I posted the above message seeking assistance and also the biggest reason I am self taught. We all have to start somewhere and this is my start.

    I need to take a file (our main database) and compare it to another file (Manufacturers Catalog) and have it match the same part numbers and then create to new files. ! File being all that matched and the other file all that do not match so they can be formatted and loaded into our master file...

    Documentaion or help w/214 Array install

    I have an Ultra 30 that I am putting a dual SCSI port into and using it to connect to a Sun 214 Array w/7-4,2Gig HD's. I am looking for any documentation for Solaris 8 and Sun how to connect the Array and set it up properly. I am new to Unix/Solaris 8 so bear with me. Ya gotta start somewhere.

    Thanks for the suggestions. I will try them later. Yes I have 5 PC's networked into a swtich and router. I am using Windows 98, XP Pro and 2000 Pro. The 2000 Pro is my main PC> I was looking at using Samba and also Server for NFS. Plus Apache.

    Can you tell me about appending in Access database?

    Thank you for the information. Some of the databases I am building have up to 300,000 line items. Which is close to 3 1/2 times the capacity of an Excel spread sheet. This data is being made available for quick searches of our support team.
