This doesn't change the path but you may be able to set up an alias of the old location and then have it redirect to the new location. What I have done in the past is create a web alias initially so that if i have to move to different servers all of I have to do is change the alias definition.
Toni,
What you need to do is create an alias of your fact table and then have one date attribute that maps to order date on one side and then invoice date on the aliased fact table. You should get the results you are looking for. You can create an alias of an existing table by right clicking on...
Your problem is probably because your transformation has the relationship defined at the day level only and you are filtering on week. Try adding day/date dimensionality to your metric with ending lookup and it should use the last day of the week when writing the query for your metric.
If you are looking to do break on pages in reports you can do that using report services. Add the custom group or consolidation into the paging area up top and then you can define the report to break every time an element changes.
If you are using the same user you should see the report that you ran in desktop appear in the history list in web. Select it from there and it should not re-execute. If you are logging in as a different user it may have to do with your cache settings on the server and if you create a cache per...
Have you tried creating a base formula and then using that in your calculation? Make the base formula Visits * Cost and then use that in your calculation (Base Formula/1000).
That should work I think.
We use Object Manager exclusively. We have tried project merge but couldn't quite get it to do what we wanted. It's probably because we didn't spend much time trying to figure out how it works. Object manager always more control in my opinion.
There is a way to do a prompt within a prompt that should accomplish what you are trying to do. Another choice which might work out better is to create a hierarchy with those two attributes and then select the hierarchy in an element prompt using the tree layout. It will let you open the Country...
I don't think you will be able to pull it from cache the way you are trying to do it. By selecting the Sales Person you are caching at that level. And since the selections are different that is two different caches. If you had them select the Channel instead then you would have no problem. You...
You should really look into the Web version since it supports a lot of the features of desktop already. I know it's not on par yet but I believe there goal is to make it that way eventually. I just don't know how long that will take. Are you seeing the web client behaving slowly? I haven't had...
Try using some of the date functions that are now available in 8.x or you can always use an applysimple to pass the Oracle functions in natively. The new functions in Microstrategy are pretty smart and convert the generic function to the database specific function when it queries the database.
I think I am little confused with your explanation but I thought attribute roles were applied when you have two different attributes that could use the same lookup table. An example would be Ship Date and Invoice Date. You would only need one date lookup table. My recommendation would be to...

Just wanted to give my two cents. We have had a similar requirement in the past but found performance to be a problem when implenting it this way. Our database is pretty large though so it could work fine in your environment. What we ended up doing was creating filters that get updated through...
I wonder if upgrading/install Microstrategy 8.0 is also this simple?
The beauty of it is that 8 is built off of the existing metadata model already in 7 and from what I have seen it is an easy upgrade. That is one of the really big benefits of using Microstrategy and not other BI tools. They...
Make sure to check the permissions on the report. Creating a report in desktop and making it available in web is as easy as putting it in the right folder.
teccum,
I think your best bet is to create the four different table alias based on your base date table. After you do that duplicate your existing date attribute 4 times and then redefine each one to use one of the new aliased tables as the lookup table. Then you'll need to manually map each...
