Simplified sharing is turned off, and I have corresponding username/passwords for all users. Like I said, I can browse the Data folders and files that are needed. There is something Clarity just doesn't like.
In the office, we have 5 PCs connected with Microsoft peer-to-peer networking. I installed a new WindowsXP machine to run as a data/backup server. I copied the data to the new server for all the other applications to get backed up every night.
Unfortunately, I am having trouble with a...
Hello,
I am trying to setup a peer to peer network for one of our external branches. The network consists of 2 Win98 pcs and 1 Win95 PC. Printer #1 is shared on Win98#1, and printer #2 is shared on the Win95PC. Both of these printers are Parallel port printers. All 3 PCs print to both...
I am setting up a PC for a server that will service 5-6 people in a small business. I installed WinXP on the server. I am trying to figure out how to have the PCs login into the XP server from their own respective PCs using the Client for Microsoft Networks, like you would do with a Win2000...
Ghost 2002 (home license) or Ghost 7.5 (business license) are fully compatible with XP and the new ATA hard drives.
We have been using ghost for several years now, and it is a solid app.
As far as a hard drive failing, Ghost has options to do an image of a drive and continue even thought it has...
I am thinking of setting up XP on a server that would service 5-6 people. I am just wondering if XP has a limit on the number of connections at one time. NT 4.0 workstation had a limit of 10.

The file sizes went from a couple KB to 200 KB, to 2MB.

I have used ad-aware after I installed Kazaa and Morpheus, and it was surprising the amount of stuff it found. I definitely recommend running that if you have Kazaa installed. Kazaa has a lot of spyware.
And by the way, I really don't think that the name Kazaa sounds any better than...
Hello, I have a user that is connected to a Novell Netware5 network with a Win95 PC.
The problem is that the Recycle Bin seems to only selectively keep files, and discards the others.
I checked to make sure she wasn't deleting a file from a floppy, or a network drive. The files in question...
There were two BIOS entries for USB: one for assign an IRQ to USB, and one to disable\enable USB. I had missed the enable\disable switch.
Thanks for the help guys.
I disabled the USB in the Windows XP device manager, and would like to bring it back. It has disappeared from the list of hardware, and I don't know how to re-install it.

This problem is documented in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
Apparently, it's got something to do with the
c:\windows\fonts folder.
This is the Knowledge Base problem code:
Err Msg: Error Loading GDI.EXE. You Must Reinstall Windows (Q146904)
Hope this helps.
