Speed of NT agent with Novell server
Having spent 2 weeks getting an acceptable performance from Novell box (between 130 and 200 MB/min). I thought I would move on to the NT/2000 servers. Using the agent from the CD gives 12 MB/min and it doesn't finish as it times out with link lost. I see there are sp upgrades for the nt/2000...- dunck

Arcserve 7 for Netware Manager slow
From the NW console (local or remote)enter TAPESVR DISABLE WRITES This effectivly disconnects the tape device allowing Arcserve to run at full speed. arcserve backup speed < 25 mbs
Have applied SP Qo05996 and Qo06781. Backing up a suitable directory on the tape server now gets us to 25 MB/min. The tape spec says 60 MB/min. Is the Arcserve 7 software that bad???. We can do a disk-disk copy at around 500 MB/min across the network.- dunck
