go to /etc/lp/interfaces
find your printer
edit the file that has your printer name
find the word "nobanner" and change no to yes
that's all

I have a very old Cobol program, I moved it from Dos to Solaris. Everything worked well but the line-drawing characters didn't work. What can i do???
How do I set my terminal to use line-drawing characters.

Try logging in, then find a terminal or a console. Then type poweroff. I think there is another way just press ctl+alt+del and wait until it shuts down and power it off before it reboots
