virtual hosting is a way of serving more than one domain on one server.
it's made by configuring apache and setting up each domain with their own paths in the server, their own security levels, etc...
you can share one ip address, or use different ip addresses.

seems that you will need to check the http.conf file.
i usually try to specify each folder i want to protect in the http.conf, it can be redundant sometimes, but i'm sure it works ...
use a <directory> directive:
<directory /path/to/directory>
AllowOberride All
</directory>

when i changed the httpd.conf, i couldn't see anything happening on the server, so i decided to restart apache...<br>
good idea ... now it (surprisingly) actually works !<br>
