I gave it the college try. Sadly, I get the turkey tone after entering *4 and the extension number.
It looks like this has been tried before unsuccessfully...

I guess I'm buying an FXO card for Asterisk.
Hi Kyle,
I'm totally intrigued by this idea of using the remote access extension with the PAP2T. I will definitely give it a try and report back.

I appreciate the help. I guess it'll be analog then. I've got a Linksys PAP2T, but I'm pretty sure that will only work as FXS and I'm going to need FXO to do this. Looks like I'll have to put some sort of PCI card into the asterisk box to get an FXO port. Do either of you have a favorite...
Thank you, gentlemen.
Sadly, I don't think we're licensed for qsig.
I'm not seeing a place to declare a COS for a trunk. I've looked at change trunk-group and change signalling-group. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Hi all,
With much greatly appreciated help from the linked thread, I've successfully connected my Definity G3 R12 communicating via an E1 to my FreePBX/Asterisk box. We can make outbound calls from either PBX via a T1/PRI connected to Definity; we can make outbound calls from...
Kyle, you are a lifesaver. We now have two-way calling. We had zero luck getting Asterisk to force u-law, but as soon as we switched Definity to a-law all was right with the world.
Thank you!!!

Hi all,
I'm revisiting this project after getting a great deal of help from this forum last year but not quite getting it fully functional. I've got a Definity G3 V12 with a TN464 board and an Asterisk box with a PhonicEQ E100P card. I have successfully built a DS1 circuit directly connecting...
Thanks for checking in, Joe. Sadly, no luck. We thought maybe the TN464 we had was bad so we picked up another one on Ebay. It arrived this week and the result was identical. I'm wide open to additional suggestions. One correction to above... Randy wrote:

No luck so far, Randy and Joe. But you've helped me determine a few things that it's not. I revisit tomorrow with a fresh set of eyes. Thanks again for sticking with me on this.

Hi Joe,
My Googling of rolled cables shows them to have a mirrored pin array. i.e. Pin 8 to Pin 1, Pin 7 to Pin 2, Pin 6 to Pin 3, and so on. I'm going to build a cable like that and try it. The cable built as per the link you posted earlier did not fare well. I appreciate your patience as...
Hi Joe,
I purchased a AVAYA / SYSTIMAX 356A AMPHENOL ADAPTER. (8) RJ45 PORTS / JACKS to get from amphenol to RJ 45. Another blog I read indicated that a normal Ethernet Patch Cable was all I needed from that point. In fact, I get an "OK" and green light on Asterisk with the regular patch...

Thanks for helping. Here we go...

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the rapid response.
The Asterisk PC is sitting on top of the Definity cabinet. The RJ-45 cable is about 3 feet. I tried playing with the clock settings at both ends to no avail. Any other ideas will be appreciated.

Hi all,
My first post, so be patient with me please. I've got an Avaya Definity G3 V12 to which I'd like to link an Asterisk server (running Freeswitch). I've found a number of blogs and posts detailing the steps but I'm stuck getting the link to read "in service" on Definity. I've installed...
