It is a Polycom VVX500 Im installing not the VVX1500, I'll look through the doc you posted but my main concern is its not even registering at the moment !
Cheers AMRIDDLE, I take your point onboard, The Paxton system does have its own video phone as well but the customer doesn't want two different handsets on each desk that wants to answer and open the door, and as I can do this on almost all of my other IP enabled systems I had hoped Avaya would...
I can call the softphone from the doorphone and it works fine, obviously only one way video as the doorphone doesn't have a display, i just cant seem to get the doorphone to call the grandstream and hold the call up,,
Is there any way to use the softphone in conjunction with a normal desk...
Also if calling the URL of the SIP phone that would mean that the call could not go into a hunt group on the Avaya if the Video phone doesn't answer ?
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Avaya can't handle video...... I mean they only own a massive videoconferencing company after all lol...
Sorry to be thick here, but are you therefore saying that the door phone needs to call the IP address of the desk phone? via URL?
Oddly enough video works fine using the avaya softphone
Just checked the config of the site, allow direct media is ticked for both the Paxton Video door phone and the 3rd Party IP Endpoint extension, so I guess unless theres another setting to force direct media thats not the issue?
Hi All,
Has anyone managed to get the new Polycom VVX500 phone registered and working as a 3rd party IP Endpoint on the IPO? I need a video phone that works with a door phone setup over the system, so far tried the new Grandstream, that rgisters and works fine for voice but cuts off the call...

I'll do the upgrade and report back, thanks for the advice guys
Hi Hairlessmonkey,
Yep restarted the VM, Rebooted the IPO as well, made no difference, next plan was to upgrade the software and hope it sorts the issue, but not going to hold my breath!!
As I mentioned previously, I've checked the mailboxes, and some users have various Source Numbers, however this is lighting the MWL on users that have no Source numbers at all e.g. every user on the system
SSA shows no Messages in any group mailbox, already checked that
Some users have extra source numbers for various huntgroup mailboxes, but these mailboxes are empty, also there are users who have no source code and the MWL is on too,, its a really odd situation!
I was thinking of deleting all messages from the Embedded VM to make certain, but not sure of the...
Hi All, first post here apologies if its in the wrong area?
I have a IPO 500v2 running version 7.0(5) software (I know its not the final release version for 7.0)
The issue we are seeing is that the Message wait light is illuminated system wide and simply won't turn off, Im about to upgrade...
