You have to refresh the ADO Data Control (if you are this this control) or refresh the recordset (if you use Createobject method).
Below is the example i created. I have a data report called DataReport1, ADO Data Control called Adodc1.

Few things to note. First, (in IE5) go to Tools > internet options > connection tabs and set the dial up method to "never dial a connection".
Second, click the LAN settings button (in Connection tab as well) and uncheck all the boxes (do make sure proxy server text box is empty!!!)...
If you are trying to connect to those production library files, you need to use client access driver (ODBC) and specify your AS400 id and password.
To connect to normal database file (which is created by queries), I believe you can do it by creating normal DSN through ODBC.
