I did not realize that I needed to go into remote connections and drill down to the the exchange server then select the information store. None of the documentation that I was reading said to do that. I feel like a tard for not looking at that!!! Thanks for the help!!
Ok, so I installed the SP3 system manager on my media server and it still does work. I also went through and uninstall and reinstalled everything...installing backup exec last. One thing I am unclear of. Backup Exec will not allow me to install the remote agent on the Exchange server because...
On my way into work this morning I had a thought. My Exchange server is on SP3, my media server has the system manager of a pre-sp1 disk. Wonder if that has anything to do with it??
Do I need to install a remote agent on the Exchange server? I already installed the Exchange 2000 Agent on the media server and the Exchange 2000 server.
I thought I needed Outlook installed for this to work? Do I need a mail client installed? The agent says Exchange 2000 Agent...I'm assuming that is correct cuz it is Exchange 2000 I'm backing up.
