Backups of cluster resurse cases drives to go into DOWN mode

lfloden, your description does sound the same. Since you have an MDR with two fibre ports, you could have tape drive ghosting. How many tape drives do you see in Windows Device Manager? Sounds like you should see four. It also sounds like Share Storage Option isn't configured correctly...

Backups of cluster resurse cases drives to go into DOWN mode

So far, your configuration sounds OK. But, something isn't setup correctly. It sounds like this is your problem... Only one media server should have robot control. The tape drives on the others should be set to "robot is handled by a remote host". I always configure the master to...

I haven't worked with Oracle, but the behaviour you describe is the same with SQL Server. The first job is like a master job that runs a script, but doesn't actually back anything up. Your class will have the script under the Scripts tab. You should find your 143 items in there. For SQL...

Where are the backuped archive logs?

You may be talking about transaction logs from SQL Server or Exchange, or you may be talking about something else. You aren't giving enough information, so I don't know. Either way, I've never seen the files you are refering to.

Backups of cluster resurse cases drives to go into DOWN mode

OK, more questions... Have you configured the tape drives as Multihosted Drives? (Shared Storage Option) Does the MDR have one or two fibre ports? If two, 1) Have you created maps? 2) How many tape drives does Device Manager see?

Where are the backuped archive logs?

Setting up Volume Pools and classes

Limit the use of pools and Everybody does classes differently. Create general classes to begin with. Then as you get more comfortable with them, you will change the classes to fit your business needs.

Backups of cluster resurse cases drives to go into DOWN mode

Are the tape drives connected to the cluster? If so, how? Are one or both of the cluster nodes media servers? What client are you using in the class? (cluster node, virtual server)

If you are talking about running the same class multiple times, I would suggest that either your data is also changeing wildly, or your backups are failing intermittently. What is the status when you only get 96 KBytes? And does a "Backup Problems" report indicate any problems? If...

    Netbackup for Exchange 2000

I'm not backing up mailbox's. I am able to backup and restore many different storage groups. I made no change to the NBU client or agent. And no change to Exchange. When I run the NBU client, I can see the storage groups. Are you using the Exchange2000 directive in the class?

    Netbackup for Exchange 2000

You just run setup and it installs. There really isn't anything else that you do.

    Pending messages

I can't find information about clearing pending messages anywhere. I would like to figure out what request is generating the message. And I would like to redirect the request to another pool. Any help appreciated! NW 5.5.1 on Tru64 Thanks Dan

    DECnet on OpenVMS

The next question then is do you have an end-node or full-function license? An end-node license will only allow one circuit to be enabled. $ ncp show known lines <- NICs $ ncp show known circ <- DECnet $ ncp set/define circ/line bna-0 state on/off Set makes changes to the running system...
