Okay. I was back on-site and he said he found a codec online that worked. He doesn't remember which one though. I love problems that solve themselves. Thanks again for all or your advice.
I meant that I copied the files to the hard drive to play it directly from the hard drive. The files copied with no problem but would still not open. I've tried other computers and was able to play them from the same DVD. There's three that play them and three that won't.
Thanks for the replies, everyone. The files in question are on a DVD. I tried copying them to the hard drive with no success. Is the cccp site safe? It looks a little shady.
I've been having this frustrating issue with one of my clients. They are trying to open a .avi file from a CD. I've tried everything from downloading codecs to installing other players (DivX, VLC, Gom, etc.) Nothing works. I thought the CD was bad or the .avi files were corrupt, but others are...
How do you go about changing the general message that answers after 5 rings? It goes to a message of press xx to leave a message for Person A, yy for Person B, etc. They replaced an employee and need the message changed. It's for a remote office and I'm trying to walk them through it, but have...
We recently got these large printers for each of our buildings. Each building is currently on its own domain with a 2003 server. All users use a Windows 7 workstation. Is there a way to deploy the print drivers and settings through group policy? I would prefer not to use a print server since...
We are upgrading three of our sites to Avaya IPO. Each site will have its own controller with the voicemail and fax server located at our central site. We are in the initial planning phase and I had a few questions about the VLAN configuration.
1. Will each location require to be on the same...
Thanks for the replies. I am finding the messages in the badmail folder so it looks like the messages are reaching the relay but just not being forwarded. Right now my settings for the SMTP are the IP address of the server set up for the relay with Port 25. The email address is the gmail-based...
We have AvayaIPO that I'm trying to get to send voicemails through email. Our company uses gmail for email. I've tried setting it up through stunnel with no success. I've also tried creating an SMTP relay with no luck. My vendor suggested a GMX account, but I'm unable to create an account with...
Thanks. I will set up an audit to monitor the changes that are made to see if anyone is doing something they shouldn't be.
To clarify, I didn't give them logon rights to the domain controllers. I just was wondering if there was away to block the remote administration snap-in.
We are running a AD infrastructure. The central DC is running 2012 while the remote DCs are mostly running 2003. I would like to lock down AD after we had a few things that happened that made me question if we were hacked.
1. All of the techs have been given full control of the Computers OU so...
I am running a Windows 2003 that is functioning as a sole DC in a domain. Yesterday everything stopped functioning. I first checked DNS and all of the AD zones are gone. The event viewer has an error message of Event ID:4000 "The DNS server was unable to open Active Directory..."
In the system...
Thanks for the advice. I will scrap the VoIP idea for now. At some point a new phone system is coming in so I am hoping it's before the new wing is opening.
I have a bit of a confusing situation that I need help with. We are currently running a Definity v11 with all analog and digital cards. It's at a large high school that is going through a complete renovation. It's pretty much a nightmare right now. At some point we are going to be getting a new...
Hello,
I need a good recommendation for a hearing aid compatible phone. It's for an analog extension and they would prefer that it be corded. It's for a student that needs to use the phone for the autoshop class that requires a hearing aid. I assume that any analog phone would work but I don't...
We are looking to get an IP Office system installed at one of our middle schools. We are considering a number of options such as leaving the existing analog phones in the classrooms to save money. One of the other issues that came up is the debate between digital sets and IP sets for the office...
What would be the benefit of hacking the system, other than getting someone's voice mails? I know with the IP Office that you can direct extensions to long distance calls or something to that effect. Is it something similar?
Also, is there a way I can find out where the calls are coming from...
Thanks for the input. Is it possible to access the voice mail from outside the building. The only way I can access it is from feature 983 from inside the building. The system is not connected to the network if that is even possible. It's a pretty old system.
