Well, long story short VPN was not possible due to their 4g WiMax cellular internet connection, which turned out to be too poor of a connection for VoIP calls
We ordered UVerse this week and we are setting up a VPN
Just very disappointed in Avaya for claiming this technology was doable...

(I know a VPN will probably fix this but that is not possible right this moment. I need an alternative, plus the 9600 phones and IPO 8.0 are supposed to support non-vpn remote extensions)...
