Hi All,
I thought I would pop in and ask a quick (yeah right) question in regards to an upgrade. Long story short we requested a budget increase to allow for an upgrade of hardware and software for exchange and pdc. Well the old exchange 5.5 box died last week and because some things were not...
The outlook client can access the local 5.5 exchange server with out a problem (we have a mix of 2000, XP and 2003) however when a 2003 user trys to access via http://yourexchangeserver/exchange this is when OWA stalls and hangs because of the 4th key outlook 2003.
The fix from microsoft...
Hi Mike,
I havent experienced what you just discribed, and I too would't like it at all. OL2003 is the issue as far as I can tell.
From the hot fix summery
This problem occurs when you try to access a user account that was previously accessed by a client computer that is running Microsoft...
We have the exact same proble as you Mike. The supposed fix .. does not seem to work and it seems to happen after a remote user tries to access OWA using a computer with Outlook 2003 installed.
Yep DColcl .. rather that put directmail@yahoo-inc.com, use @yahoo-inc.com - but be warned that you will block ANY mail from that domain. I use it myself for known SPAM email address domains, but use the full address for say @hotmail.com as we still want to receive email from clients who use...
als have a look at this thread
thread10-764953 use advanced search and look for open relay.
a good place to test your relay is here http://members.iinet.net.au/~remmie/relay/ it will just test and not list you if you happen to be open.
good luck and if you need a hand just ask.
There is a new ( well new to me as I have never had this before ) attack on mail servers happening now called a reverse NDR attack, where the spammer puts the recipients email adress into 'from'and nothiong into 'to' to use the ndr to send the spam to the person.
In the queue you will see the...
Hey all,
We are using exchange 5.5 with the non specified ip work around to stop relaying. We are not listed as an open relay either, but I like to check myself every now and then. I use a site http://members.iinet.net.au/~remmie/relay as it will not list you if you happen to be relaying. One...
Might help might not,
In outlook click on view > current view.
If you have unread messages selected you will only see the unread ones, the read ones dont dissapear but cant be seen.
As I said might help, might not.. hope it does!
Yosh
Ok I hope you are not an open relay .. its a pain to fix and a bigr pain to get off the black lists.
Go to http://www.ordb.org/submit/ and submit your hostname or ip .. let the tests run and they will tell you if you are or are not an open relay.
If you are an open relay then you need to go to...
Another way would be to give the owner usernames and passwords to the users he/she wishs to spy on and let the owner access email via OWA then he/she can see everything.
Thats how I see whats going on with the email.
On the point of lawsuits, we have work place agreements and electronic...
Hi All,
I have done a search and found one post the same but didnt understand the fix, so I am posting my question.
We have exchange 5.5 running on a win2k box.
We get our email routed up from our head office.
They control all the email ( a real pain .
Most accounts work fine for sending and...
Nope you are right JP it will not ( I learnt that the hard way)
Are you wishing to resize your OS partition or some storage partitions? Disk Management will allow resizing of storage partitions easy enough, but if its your OS partition then you will need volume manager or similar.
I could not...
Hi,
No all you need to do is to allow users access to the server
EG: We have a DC and 3 members.
1 member is email
1 member is Dbase
1 member is File Server
We add users to the DC and set their permissions.
We then allow access to the File Server for example to certain people. Without access...
Hi all,
We have just bought 2 more domain names ... yay what fun.
Now the boss's want to have email addresses set up for the, you know the norm info@abc.com and sales@abc.com ...
We already have all of those set up with our existing setup info@xyz.com etc.
The host has set up the mail to point...

Hi all,
I have been threw the faq and the keyword searches and found lots of good stuff on moving to a new server with the same name, but nothing on moving to a new server with a different name.
We have a server which runs everything for us, web, exchange, dns, dbase the works. It has 40 to 50...
