Thanks for the response, as previously mentioned we are aware you can pull the user account info (end users in call manager) On the device and/or line side, are you saying you can also pull the description/alerting name etc?
Does your product do this or does it only pull name information from...
Interesting, so your tool actaully pulls over all the name information on the device side?
The option we have been provided by a vendor is to add user accounts for all unassigned extensions. Apparently the name information can then be imported into CUCM.

In our old Siemens telephony system we used to pull CDR into third party software and run reports. The raw CDR included the name of the phone.
