We had all sorts of SCSI timeouts, lockups and slow throughput using Win2K, ArcServe and an Overland Autoloader.
After much messing about, I saw a suggestion on the TapeWare site to disable the drive in Device Manager. This stopped the software from being able to see it, so it didn't help...
Compaq ML570 server, Overland LoaderXpress autoloader (containing Seagate Viper 200), Win2K, Arcserve 2000. Compaq SCSI cable.
Backups run at 1 GB/min, but nearly always fail with "E6300 Windows NT SCSI PORT Error" after 1 or 2 GB. Swapping the supplied terminator for an old one drops...
Not the real one, of course!
I've been testing Arcserve - choosing the whole of C: to backup, and then restoring to a temp folder. Now I have copies of System Volume Information which I can't delete.
I can't change the file attributes or delete them at the command prompt either.

...this problem is stranger than I thought:
Restores start fast, but then the speed falls away over half an hour or so, and eventually the SCSI bus times out or I get fed up waiting.
Seagate say Overland should support us, but to try a non-Compaq SCSI controller. Maybe it will help.
The account I first set up in Eudora is no longer valid. Eudora still collects my other accounts, but when I write a message it defaults to being from the old address.
Can I delete the dominant account, or make another one dominant?
