I ended up explaining to them that it was discriminatory to just pickup calls based on extension lights and ultimately any call needed to be picked up if it was ringing as the boss explained to me. Since the Partner lights the incoming line until the extension or VM picks up they could pick it...
I have a client with a Partner R6 with 5 extensions and all incoming calls come to the auto-attendant. No phones ring until the call comes to the extension from the attendant. However, the boss wants all calls answered and then transfered back to voicemail if necessary.
