Hi guys;
First my expertise is data and report analysis using Access and Excel so building a web app is totally new to me. I am building a data driven web app in Access. I have been using Access desktop apps for a decade but this has never come up. The access web app will allow users to view a...
This string is in a table yes? I have done it by creating a query that results in only the column of fields I want to remove the text from and doing a simple find and replace with from the edit menu.
ie. search for SATURN MARS JUPITER MOON Replace with SATURN JUPITER MOON. You can also search...
Sorry - I'm thinking use of the work 'globalize' may have muddied the waters. No provider as the db is in an enterprise environment corp network. It is on a network share. The challenge is that I can open forms and run queries from my desktop where I designed the db however if another user...
Hi all;
I have an Access DB that I have copied from my workstation to a network drive for others to view the data. The tables in the DB are linked to a SQL DB. Users trying to open the data from the network get an ODBC--Connection to 'xxxx' failed.
I have created the ODBC connection for...
Hi all;
My Access DB is linked to a number of workbooks on a shared drive. I have reports generated by Access which summarize the Excel data however just discovered that if the source Excel worksheet is open, Access generates a blank report.
Is there any way around this?
THanks
Rob
Hi all;
Just wondering if I can link data in AD to an Access DB. This would be used for querying and reporting only not changing or adding any data within AD. I have linked to SQL databases and Excel sheets before - is it as straight forward as that?
Thanks!
It's weird Duane - the query opens the spreadsheet only if Excel is open (even if it's open to a blank workbook).
The other odd thing is that I have linked to a number of spreadsheets and only a couple have this problem - if Excel is open they open the linked spreadsheet - if excel is closed...
Hi all;
I have linked an excel spreadsheet to my Access DB. I have created a query that runs properly however when I run the query or modify the design of the query, the excel sheet I am getting my result from also opens.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks,
Robert
Hi all;
Here's the challenge I am facing. I need to use two aggregate values in relation to a form.
One is to identify which records to display based on an AVG value of the Pass/Fail/Not tested choices using 1,2,3 as the numerical value. If the AVG value is 0 then the form can be...
Hi all;
I am trying to retrieve an aggregate value from a query into a form. I initially tried to use the aggregate (count) in the query that the form is based on however it made the form fields uneditable.
I have a table of users and apps. The count qry is to calculate how many users are...
Sorry for being vague Duane....
Tables are:
TBL_Master_Apps and TBL_Master_Apps_and_Modules.
One to many relationship between TBL_Master_Apps. [Master_App_Name] and TBL_Master_Apps_and_Modules. [Master_App_Name]
Fields in TBL_Master_Apps_and_Modules:
[Master_App_Name] and...
Hi all;
Just can't wrap my head around this so I could use some direction.
Working on a Win7 deployment projet app test status report.
I have a table with the "Master" App name (ie. Adobe Design Suite CS3) that has multiple modules (ie. photoshop, illustrator, design etc.) which are in a...
Hi all;
Created a simple query from two tables.
In trying to normalize the data I created two tables:
One table has 17944 records - created by someone else with 12 fields.
From that table I created another table with 17,944 records using only 3 of the 12 fields from the original table.
When...
Thanks Duane - I am using conditional field formatting to differentiate between the various status's. Just thought green light if all three status's read "Pass" would be cool and great for quick visual ID (but mostly cool)...lol
Thanks again Duane - always nice to know you are here for guidance!
Hi all;
Trying to display a variety of bitmap images depending on content of a field on the form. I have started with a green "go" light - if the field text is "Pass" I want the image to display - if the field is "Fail" or "Testing" I want another image to be displayed.
Here is the code I...
Thanks KJV, it appears that I could achieve the objective using MS InfoPath but it would be contingent on all recipients having InfoPath installed on their machines. I haven't found a way to call a custom Outlook form as the collect data feature is fully integrated into the app so there is no...
