Oracle Support Policy
Problem is, the only way you are entitled to updates for Solaris (as far as I know) and other Oracle software, is by taking out support from Oracle (or via a reseller).- wohenben

Non technical one this. Under the new rules, you have to pay 8% of the server price for Solaris support, or 12% for full hw and sw support. And for non-Oracle servers, it's $1000 per socket per year. But what happens if you want to run Solaris in a VM? So far, nobody at our reseller seems to...- wohenben
