    Jeremybarker, I have the latest Ad-aware ver 5.82. It didn't find anything. But I think you might be on the right track. I will continue to look at some of my other freeware progs. thanks for the response.

    Find out everything you can about Opportunistic Locking. Try going to http://www.jsiinc.com/. Also the MS site or use Google.com and search for Opportunistic Locking. Older DOS databases need special attention to work on NT. HTH.
