Dear HP Gurus!
Before buying these expensive transceivers (J9151A) we made sure that it is compatible to our HP3500 switches (J9310A). According to HP documentations, yes it is compatible! However, when we plugged the transceivers to our switches, the log said it is incompatible. We were...
Nowadays, ISPs/Telco are now offering SIP Trunks as an alternative to E1 ISDN PRI for VoIP Phone System deployment. Do you have any experience using SIP Trunks from the ISP/Telco? Is it easier to manage than E1 ISDN PRI? Is it cheaper? Would you recommend it?

Greetings to all NEC Gurus!
I used Quintum analog gateway to link my NEC PBX with my VoIP Phone System. My problem is, the NEC PBX who do the trunk to trunk connection doesn't release after ending the call. Is there a parameter that I missed or this is normal to analog phone system? Is there a...
Dear Telephony Gurus,
I'm not expert in NEC PBX maybe someone out there could help us. We are in a middle of migration from analog phone to VoIP phone. We are currently running the 2 systems in parallel. We are using Quintum AXM2400 (FXO/FXS) as a gateway between the two systems. We would like...
Our provider told us that Quintum DX3000 E1 ISDN PRI Voice Gateway can not be administered through Quintum Tenor Configuration Manager. Configurations can only be done through CLI. Anyone who can confirm this?

Dear Dell Gurus,
Currently we have Dell PowerVault MD3220 with 1 Diskgroup and 3 virtual disks. Now we need to expand our storage by installing 1 MD1220. Our goal is to increase the size of the virtual disks. After connecting MD1220, we saw 12 TB unconfigured space. We tried to increase the...
Dear NEC Gurus,
Is it by design that the system check the restriction of the caller (extension) before forwarding the call? I have this situation:
Phone A - No dial 9
Phone B - Dial 9 capable
Phone C - Dial 9 capable (forwarded to 9 + External Number)
1. If Phone A calls Phone C, Phone A...
Dear NEC Gurus,
Is it by design that you need to access a 2-digit code first (i.e. 88) then dial the authorization code then finally dial 9 + telephone number? How can I configure my system so that the caller will dial 9 + telephone number first then at the end he can dial his authorization...
Dear Friends,
Initially, when we configured our Authorization Code, we set it as Unrestricted (can dial all the trunk access codes). Now, we need to restrict the authorization code from accessing our GSM Voice Gateway. Do yo have any idea where should I start?

Is there a way to log all mac-addresses with their corresponding port number? I want to trace a user but I need him to log-in in order to see his mac-address using the command show mac-address. If this is not possible, is there a free windows application that could do this?

What is the maximum number of NICs that can be teamed on Windows Server 2008 R2? Should we consider the switch limitation for LACP like most of the HP Procurve switches that only support 4?
"It is an equal failing to trust everybody, and to trust nobody.
Try to look for a TNs that were programmed but no telephones connected into it. For analog, there's no other way but to physically inspect your panel. For digital, you can use a command to disable all TNs without phones connected.

I'm using Broadcom Advanced Control Suite 3 (BACS3) on a Windows Server 2008 R2. The network teaming wizard provided 3 option as follows:
1) Smart Load Balancing (TM) and Failover (SLB)
2) 802.3ad Link Aggregation using Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP)
3) FEC/GEC Generic Trunking...
Will it cause any problem in my network if teaming was already done on the server and LACP was not yet configured in the switch? Will it cause a network loop or broadcast problem? Without configuring our switch, I've noticed from the 3 teamed NICs' speed became triple already and the host server...
