IP Office 500V2 Rel.8 Voicemail Pro Server - sizing recommendation

Being a Linux sysAdmin, I like that idea! Still wondering about the redundancy though. Those concerns would still apply. What about virtualizing it?

IP Office 500V2 Rel.8 Voicemail Pro Server - sizing recommendation

Hello all, We have a new Avaya IP Office 500V2 release 8 system on the way, and I'd like to start building the system that will house the VM. We have approx. 80 extensions, and currently have a call-pilot 150, which although buggy at times, has been fine for our needs. One thing I like about...

How would you count the number of lines coming into a MICS system

Hi, What is the easiest way to determine the total number of phone lines coming into a MICS system (T1 and Copper) Thanks, Bruce

    Avaya's company health

We have some proposals for Avaya, and Shortel. Currently, we have a Norstar MCIS, so the Avaya quote looks more palatable, because we can re-use our current phones. However, I have heard, and read this post http://insidecti.com/wordpress/news/report-claims-avaya-on-path-to-implosion/ which...

    Recovering from A Disaster

I'll see what our current guy says about if he has access or not. If not, would any reseller do? I don't mind having to pay, and going forward everything will be put in our Wiki (which has multiple backups), so it won't be an issue. Many thanks, Bruce

    Recovering from A Disaster

I'm putting together a disaster recovery plan, and our current phone system is currently a concern. We are using a different vendor for support other than the original company that sold us the system. It's a Nortel MICS with Call-Pilot 150, and I would like to purchase and keep spare...

Audio file conversions for Call Pilot 150

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. It is for the Auto-Attendant, but... This is copy/pasted from the HELP: "If you use a CallPilot 100/150 system, you can import .vbk files. You cannot import .wav files for CallPilot 100/150. If you want to use a .wav file, you must convert it to a .vbk file...

Audio file conversions for Call Pilot 150

Hello all: Our Call Pilot 150 is at: 31.10.14.22 However, our software on the CD is probably out of date for this HW release. When I do a 'Help, About' in the CP Desktop Messaging app (CallPilot Player), it says release 1.07. We are having some greetings professionally recorded, and I...

Issue with CAP units losing their programming, after unplugging phone

Hello, We had to do some painting around where our main phone was plugged in, which is a M7324-03 with (2) additional KLM CAP's (PN: A0350411) attached. After plugging it back in, all the CAP's lost their programming. Is this normal, and how can we easily fix it? Our receptionist says she...

Windows Server 2003: Properly locks MS Office files, but not Adobe .AI

I was just thinking about using Subversion for this :-) I already have a Subversion server setup, which is used for some source code management, but it looks like it will handle binary files just as well. The only thing is the users may have a difficult time with using this, since they are so...

Windows Server 2003: Properly locks MS Office files, but not Adobe .AI

Scratch that! Adobe is deprecating Version Cue, and recommending that customers use a 3rd party DAM system. For our purposes, a simple lock when an Adobe file is opened would solve a lot of problems.

Windows Server 2003: Properly locks MS Office files, but not Adobe .AI

So it sounds like the client application is responsible for the handling of locks? Maybe Adobe wants users to use their Version Cue application, which has a "check-in, check-out" facility. Thanks for your insight - very helpful.

Windows Server 2003: Properly locks MS Office files, but not Adobe .AI

We have some shares setup on a Windows 2003 R2 server, and the MS Office files people save behave properly: The first person to open the file gets read/write, and the second person to open the file while the first person still has the file open, gets a read-only version. This is not true for...
