    Line to Extension

    I've tried the suggested. We do have line pools set up so I've followed all of the instructions but it still doesn't work. Browsing through the options, there is an ATA Settings command under Configuration > Capabilities > Extn abilities. The settings are as follows: ATA use:On Site (other...

    Line to Extension

    Cheers Guys. I'm not sure if we do, but assuming we have an ATA, how would I set up line 8 as you mention above through my M7310?

    Line to Extension

    This may sound like a stupid question but I'm not a technical user (at all) so please forgive me. As far as I can tell we have a Meridian M8X24. We have 8 lines and around 20 extensions. What I'm trying to do is port line 8 to a specific extension so that I can plug an answerphone into the...

    Launch Executables form the Web

    That's a fairly good (and logical) workaround that I hadn't thought of. Not the final solution but one to consider if you don't have CGI access and don't want to risk using ActiveX or something similar. Gary P.

    Page is still caching. How can I make it stop?

    BTW IE 5 has a problem with caching. No matter what meta tags you put on your page, IE 5 ignores them (IE 5.5+ is okay). The only way to stop it caching is to use a javascript refresh that handles all versions of the browser. It's a bit cumbersome but works. You can see an example at...

    Webpage with dynamic content from Excel

    If you save the Excel file as a CSV (comma delimitted) file, you can use data binding to display the data. This only works in IE and is a flat-file database so can be limited but if it's straightforward information you need to hold and display (without the calculations etc), then this is one...

    Launch Executables form the Web

    Hi funkymonk It looks like we've got two similar subjects going on here. Anyway, yes and yes. It's actually a perl script and I can't remember where I got it from. Also, I haven't actually used it myself yet but I have seen it in action elsewhere so it does work. If you (or anyone else) would...

    Launch Executables form the Web

    Zipping up files is okay if people have Winzip or something similar. I've dealt with some 'technophobes' that have old PCs and whose only idea of a zip is something that keeps their cardigan done up. :) If there's one thing I've learnt when designing sites, it's not to take anything for...

    Launch Executables form the Web

    My understanding of this is to give site visitors the option of either viewing OR downloading say a PDF file with a single click. Without sounding condescending, some people can't grasp the concept of right clicking and choosing "Save As", and when they left click the link, the PDF...

    Server side directory list generation question

    I am using the following server side javascript to create a directory listing: <SCRIPT> function collectLinks () { var links = dirListing.document && dirListing.document.links ? dirListing.document.links : new Array(); return links; } function writeLinks () { var links =...
