I need help with a configuration between 2 switches using an sfp. I need to configure the ports on the 2960s to recognize the connection and pass traffic to the new building. Secondly configure an internal vlan tagged to the 2960 with an internal vlan for testing internet connectivity. Let...
Hi Guys,
I have one question on a configuration. I need a port channel for nfs like so:
interface range GigabitEthernet g/2/1/12 - 13
description filer interface e0a
switchport
switchport mode access
switchport nonegotiate
flowcontrol receive on
no cdp enable
spanning-tree guard loop...
Ok, thanks; I am still learning this, if I set up a cross stack etherchannel; what purpose does the trunk on ports 23 an 24 do? Does this need to be configured?
I am using 2 stackwise cables. Here is the running config I am using currently:
Current configuration : 4690 bytes
!
version 12.2
no service pad
service timestamps debug uptime
service timestamps log uptime
service password-encryption
!
hostname switch1
!
enable secret 5...
Hi Guys,
I am having a few issues with a cross stack ether-channel. Once connecting the cables, 1 side is up but the second side is showing as down. I switched the cables and am experiencing the same issues. What is the best way to fix this/troubleshoot?
Thanks everyone,
Jason
If you use the VMWare solution with the Mitel Teleworker system, can you manage the QoS on your switches? Also, how do you secure this on the incoming ports?
Is it wise to do multiple vlan's and span them over 2 switches for reduncancy? Specifically between a dmz and another internal subnet. How is security mananged?
Ok, thanks. So its better from a performance standpoint/security standpoint to use vlan's vs. just using interfaces off the firewall to create subnets?
What is best practice to use subnetting vs vlans and trunking? For a smaller network with approx 30-40 servers and 7subnets, is it a better topology to use a layer 3 switch with trunking to segment the network or subnet thru the fw or switch and run layer 2 swiches to each subnet?
Does anyone have any good information or know of any good whitepapers/video training in performing a cross forest migration? Would be to move Exchange 2003 in AD 2003 to a new domain with Exchange 2007 and AD 2008.
I was thinking setting the funcional level of both domains to 2003 and then...
Anyone seen any detailed info on requirements, running and setting up Exchange 2007 in mixed mode? Have the need to change one office to '07, rest are running '03.
Any input would be a huge help!
Thanks in advance,
Jason
The port 4500 did the trick for the Cisco Router. Funny thing is we have other routers (non-cisco) that someone setup and didnt require that port to be open? But this 831 wasnt even trying to hit the remote WAN without port 4500 forwarding.
