The ping command shows that name resolution is working:
# ping -c 1 aspmx.l.google.com
PING aspmx.l.google.com: (209.85.225.27): 56 data bytes
The telnet command shows that connections to that host on port 25 are allowed (no firewall blocking):
# telnet 209.85.225.27 25

On AIX 4.3 setting aspmx.l.google.com as the relay host gives "No route to host". I can ping the host and telnet to that address on port 25, but I cannot telnet to the hostname on port 25.

What are the DID digits being sent and what are the extensions. The dial plan routing tables work if there is at least some correlation between the two.
Example, we have voice numbers 85xx and fax numbers 95xx. Our voice extensions are 2xx and fax are 5xx.
A NtwkServ: Any service...
We have a legend with mlx, atl and t/r extensions. On one of the atl extensions is an intermittent problem. Sometimes when you answer a call you cannot hear the caller. The red & green lights appear next to the button. If you press hold then the button you can then hear the caller...
Jim,
Your explanation sounds more like when someone calls us on a DID line.
What I am talking about is when we call out on the PRI and hit a disconnected number. What is the standard/proper way this is handled? Does the far-end send back a code that the Merlin should be handling? Or is...
We have a Merlin Legend R7, PRI emulating 5ESS for long distance (both in and out). Recently got a complaint - user dialed a number and heard click-click and dead air. Calling that number from a pots or cell gets a message that the number is disconnected or not in service or invalid or not...
Jim: Thanks for the info. I suppose the faxfinder could be connected to the line ports by using a line simulator, but at $100+ times 4 lines adds significantly to our implementation costs.
TouchToneTommy: Thanks, that might work for us. I don't predict any changes for quite some time, and...
Most ot the T/R ports are in use. I will have 4 available for the faxfinder. 4 cards are 012, 1 is 016 - entire list below.
Is it possible to use UDP routing and connect the faxfinder to line ports?
Thanks
Matt

Trying to setup for a FaxFinder. I got instructions from multitech ftp site (ff_magix_legend.doc). The problem comes in when I go to add the DID numbers to cover group 29. The extension (listed in the dialplan) do not actually exist. The only ones I can add to the group are adjuncts on the...
We have a PRI for long distance. The LD company sends us 3 digits starting with 7, 2 or 1 (7xx are groups, 1xx & 2xx are extensions).
We added a PRI for local service with two number blocks, 85xx and 95xx. They would have to send 4 digits.
Will this work?
Setup dial plan routes 0,1,2...
