Hi
I have a field that holds a filepath, e.g.
c:\program files\document.doc
What I would like to do is extraact the file name, i.e. document.doc
I thought I could use a combination of the right and patindex commands to extract this by checking for the first occurence of the backslash from...
I'm trying to create a trigger that will change part of a text field.
So, because I can't use text fields from the Inserted table the plan was to copy the inserted fields to a table using a join.
So I have the following code, but it won't update the text field, but does update the id field...
The secret is to write in proper case :D
This can happen sometimes, e.g. when GoldMine is not shut properly.
You can check the users logged in from the User Settings screen. If it is showing users still logged in then log into GM as that user, then log them out.
or,
Just close the open...
Well without knowing the full implicatios of what has happened then without installing you have two options:
1. Create a new blank database (File | New Database)
2. Run Global Delete wizard (Tools | Delete Records Wizard)
1. Create the new user from the User Settings screen (File | Configure | User Settings)
2. Do not delete the old user at this stage
3. Log in as the old user
4. View the Activity List (F6)
5. Right-click and use the Roll over option to re-assign the activities displayed.
Hi
Yes that is correct.
You would move the schedule item over from the Activity List by viewing all dates in the Open tab and using the Rollover function.
Hi
You can't change the username. The best approach is to clone the user, and then rollover her scheduled activities to the newly created user.
Historic activities will have to stay the same, and the history can't be change like a Hollywood movie.
MYOB has an additional ODBC driver to allow you to access the database - but costs a fair bit. I know that MYOB has export function under the file menu.
Hi
You are correct, this is one of GoldMine's flaws.
A workaround is to use ActivOrg from www.activip.com. This will allow you to update specified fieldds of contacts linked via the organisational chart. So if you change the address on one record it will propogate to the other records...
You can't do this in GoldMine automatically without some extra programming work.
You would have to create a filter.
Industry = Engineering
Then do a global replace on those records.
You have to be a Master user to access the backup / restore options.
The Calendar is shared between all contact set databases. Therefore, when you created a new database you just created a new contact database, not a new calendar.
