Clipping mask on outline
right i've sussed it kinda, by outlining the stroke, and also making compound path. lost the coal brush effect tho.- Anglouk

Clipping mask on outline
I'm just learning Illustrator and I'm having trouble. I've drew an image with the pen tool, applied a brush, and stroked outline (no fill).
