We have incoming analog DID's and I am trying to figure out how they work (we're changing to an asterisk phone system). Does the analog DID basically act like an analog phone connected to us? I know that when you dial one of our DIDs from the outside world you can hear the telco using dtmf to...
Hey guys, I have an MC32 acting up. I cannot for the life of me remember how to disable/enable it to reset. What ld is it? It's slot 10 on my system .. grrr. I curse myself for loosing old logs where I did this a lot a few years ago.
Ah . nm. Changed the remote switch to send 51 to the main switch and then I could setup a DSC for 51 to be pushed to the system handling long distance.
THanks for taking the time to post assistance, firebirdscrambler. I do appreciate it. ALso, thanks to this whole forum, as most of my digging...
OK, got that the remote site had an ACOD of 5 on it's ROUT coming back to the main switch (missed that earlier). Setup remote switch so it will send 5 alone to the main CS1000.
Somewhere in the main switch there is something preventing me from creating an acd, a dsc or anything with 5. Trying...
ugh. having a time trying to figure this remote site out.
They dial 51<area code><number>. There is a DGT that removes the 4 and inserts a 4. Using dch messages, I can see the main site is getting 4<area code><number>.
What I want to do is just have the remote site dial 5, come to the main...
OK, figured out something, finally, at least partially. Changed ACOD on ROUT 3 away from 4. Changed ACOD on ROUT 11 (to system where new ld lines are) to 4. Added a DSC of 4 and now I can dial 4 and get to the new system where I can wait on the full number and do what is needed.
Now, to get...
Well, no luck. The spreadsheet has issues (won't parse my files), so that doesn't help.
Any other hints? I obviously don't know how 4 is working. I change the ACOD of ROUT 3 (normally 4, change it to something else, 8911 for example), and dialing 4 gets a fast busy (makes sense).
I then...
Haven't had a chance to try the excel sheet, but will first thing in the morning. Tried changing the ACOD or ROUT 3 to something else (was able to) and then changing the ACOD of ROUT 11 to 4, just got a fast busy.
I thought perhaps I could do a DSC, but it doesn't allow full 10 digit plus code...
CS1000 involved: We're changing our ld lines to another switch (already connected to the cs1000 via pri, functional).
Currently, we dial 4 to access ld lines (8 tie trunks on the cs1000). I need to re-route that to the other switch across the PRI.
I've been doing a lot of searching...
BigPhoneDaddy,
The full nortel config is posted here:

Our call quality is good, but we had some intermittent issues with the PRI "going down" on the nortel side but showing up on the asterisk side (calls not working either way). I have...
reelbigfish,
can you get to the internet from the asterisk box? perhaps just pinging the phone? Can you ping the phone from your xp pc? Making sure the two can talk using ping is your first goal.
Some vm's have networking issues and need a little tweaking on the vm setup side (not the OS side)
yea, ACD's seem to work properly:). I found someone else recommended using acd's for perma forwarding here somewhere else. This forum is so awesome:) . .thanks to past posters!
using a diff extension now for testing, set SFA, same thing:

update . .. it seems that this (fast busy or callpilot forwarding) only occurs for the first few seconds after a call is made. If I dial an extension, wait a few seconds and dial it from a second phone while the first is still ringing, it works fine.
The main thing I've found was this:

OK guys . .I'm stuck again:(.
I have two CS1000M cabinets (both 4.0), connected by 8 ip trunks, call them Main and Remote. I have a phantom dn setup on Remote (pasted below as tn 65 1, 4 digit dn). I use rcfw to forward the phantom dn to a 6 digit dn, which routes across the ip trunks to...
Check out my thread here:

I did the exact thing you are doing (though different symptoms), ended up doing qsig for the PRI and my full config is posted on a link that is in the thread above.
I use X-lite here in our offices. It seems to work well, though we haven't used it as a "production" phone, just for testing, like you mention.
It's made by CounterPath: http://www.counterpath.com/
Just FYI, I got this completely functional. See the thread I linked above. On the Nortel side, I also had to change the RDB to VOD (from VCE), but that was recorded in a different thread, so I'm posting here to make sure you can get everything if anyone ever looks for this stuff.
