HACMP 2 IP on 1 NIC

So if there are two adapters in a server then HACMP will move the IP to the second interface? Is this only with etherchannel?

HACMP 2 IP on 1 NIC

Thanks for your answers. The problem has been resolved. The IP was on the wrong interface and when it was unplugged and plugged back in it went over to the correct interface.

    raidctl

In previous releases of Solaris using the hardware raid controller and raidctl I would mirror two disks using: # raidctl -c c0t0d0 c0t1d0 However, now I am running Solaris 10 5/08 and the raidctl command has been updated. It now sees disks on controllers so in my case I have one controller...

    Link Aggregation and IPMP

If I want link aggregation in Solaris 10 I can use dladm, for example: dladm create-aggr -d e1000g0 -d e1000g1 1 If I want IPMP I add the group to /etc/hostname.e1000g0 and /etc/hostname.e1000g1. Do I do both of those if I want to use aggregation and ip multipathing together for throughput...

    HACMP Configuration

Maybe I am being simplistic, but I would like others opinions on the setup of an HACMP environment on LPARS using a VIO server for rootvg and external disk on dedicated fibre channel adapters. The cluster is simple using one resource group and one application server under that resource group...

    Raw logical volume

If I have a raw logical volume for a database and the PP size is 4 MB and there are 1000 PPs in the logical volume. How much usable space in bytes can the database use? Is it 4,294,967,296 which is the number of bytes in 4GB or another number? How much overhead in AIX is there for a raw device?

    HACMP add LUN

Need to add a LUN to an HACMP cluster in a new volume group. When I go to create a new VG with data paths it says no free disks found. Although I have 2 free disks when I run lspv. If I go to add a disk to the cluster it gives me a list of disk types but I can't find NAS FC in there. Thanks,

VIO server plus LPAR and Netapp

I have a VIO server and a client lpar. Storage has assigned the new netapp luns. I ran cfgdev on the vio server but when I run lsmap -vadatper vhostX it shows only 1 hdisk assigned to the client lpar that has something like 50 hdisks available. How do I add the netapp lun over fibre channel...

Dropping IT - What would you do?

If it wasn't for girlfriend, kids, mortgage, car payments, and student loans I would do something else besides IT, but nothing else pays that well. Unless I want to go back to medical school or law school and rack up more student loans. Then spend years becoming a partner in a law firm to...

    Zone IP reconfigure

What is the correct way to change the IP physical and address in a zone? I have not been able to make the change other than removing it and adding it. Currently I have global zone on bge0 plus a zone on bge0:1 and a zone on bge0:2. What I want is to keep global on bge0 and have a zone on...
