Sorry just wanted to add one last thing.. I have two large databases one with 110k and one with 40k and I would love to be able to manage these from a company level a bit more than the contact level. It will help me get through the DB's quicker and more efficiently.
Mike two questions
1. I guess I am looking for a way to basically go to a contact click a button and have it add all of the other contacts with that same company name to a group. Is that possible?
2. With emailing I used about 10 draft emails for the most part of my work. Normally I copy...
I have recently purchased a license for 2009 and I wanted to ask a question about the grouping option. When I upgrade the database is there a way to group all of the contacts within a certain company together? Hope that makes sense
It's a shame I never thought of that.. thanks so much for some outside of the box thinking. Any guess why that error message occurred though? Also how is the latest and greatest act? Worth it?
Act 2007 Latest Version.
Glad that made sense to you. I was up late watching Saw :). You are saying upload a copy of the old db to the server.. merge it then unpack it again?
To be honest I am not quiet sure what had happened but none the less I created a new remote database from the master file. Unpacked/restored then sync and it works fine.
Long story short I had a ton of changes I made to the old db so I have to re-import 15000k of changes made to it then...
I recently had a laptop crash and had to move my db to a new computer which went fine. The problem now when I try to sync to the master db it won't. Any suggestions? I get an error message that says it can't find it
I didn't realize that Act 07 can't run on a Vista x64 but only on x32. I have seen in other places where people were able to run x32 programs on x64. I have two questions:
Is this possible to do w/Act 07
Will this be the same for windows 7
Thanks in advance

Just about to start mass importing records into act. My question is I have two .csv files which I can import into act with no problems. What I would like to do is be able to import them into act and have them automatically into groups by company name.
Basically...
I just recently inherited a boat load of new contacts that I will like to get organized by company as quickly as possibly. I am guessing this is the only software available that can do this? I have act 2007. Or does anyone here have a license key that they aren't using any longer?
Thanks...
I have a database of around 30,000 contacts. What I am trying to do is the following:
I have a spreadsheet of about 3000 email addresses that are already in the database, but I know these are bad email addresses. I made another column that basically is titled bad email. My rational thought...
Mike,
You don't realize how much you are helping me and I GREATLY appreciate more than you know. When I click the button it gives me the option of who to attach it to.. but it never shows up
Am I missing something?
One last question... Since the email is now working FINALLY and I do greatly appreciate your help. When a client replies to an email I sent out and it's now in my inbox.. is there a way to attach that reply into act?
I had to re-install act completely but I was able to upload that address book. Still didn't work.. I went the the add-ons in outlook and the Act! extensions was not checked.. I checked it and it finally appeared.
Thank you so much for your help... It's little problems like this that make...
For some reason my act "tab" is not showing in the tools options. I have repaired outlook and it did not make a difference at all. The act! extensions is showing and is checked on add-ons. Should I re-install act?
