From SQL Server 2005, receiving intermittant (very unpredictable) timeouts. If the SQLSERVERAGENT service blows up and scheduled maintenance doesn't run for a week or two, we've seen it get VERY bad. As long as I make sure that's running to do the nightly cleanup, it's better, but not fixed...
