Linney: I tried the fixit tool but the computer kept freezing on me due to hard drive issues. I'm trying to get Vista installed on a new HD when I ran into this problem.
I ended up creating a bootable flash drive and getting Vista installed on the new HD that way. However, the drive will...
I checked that, it is a DVD RW drive.
However, you suggested made me realize that I hadn't tried another DVD in this drive, only music and data CDs. The drive will not read the other DVD either. So for some reason the drive will read CDs but not DVDs.
Although I'm still stumped, thanks for...
I've got a Dell Laptop I'm trying to boot from the Windows CD but it doesn't read it. From Windows Explorer, it can't even access the contents of the CD. I can hear it spinning and but nothing ever happens. The computer will read other CDs, music and data so I know the CD drive is working...
We are using Acrobat v7 and for several reasons, we can't update to v8 or v9 right now. All users have v7.1.4 installed but when we try to open certain PDFs we get a message saying we need v7.0.9 or higher. If we click Help --> About Acrobat it says v7.1.4.
The problem is if we right click...
Is there anyway to look at a computer with eBlaster installed and tell what email it is sending reports to?
Also, how well does eBlaster hide itself? Are there any obvious processes running or specific DLLs that point to eBlaster.
Thanks for the reply. I've downloaded VB 2008 Express and have started playing with it. I'm not sure it will do the job but everyone I've talked to has said to try VB.

lesdevon - I wish I had a solution for you. In my case there seemed to be something corrupt with these emails. After looking myself, instead of trustng the user, it only happened with certain emails from one sender. To track it down, I made a copy of the offending email and started deleting...
I have a similar problem. Whenever my user opens an email with an attachment, Outlook hangs for 3-4 minutes before displaying the email and if you look at the task manager, outlook.exe is at 50-51%.
Have you had any luck finding a solution to your problem?
I recently setup my computer to dual boot XP Pro and Vista Busines. I've been testing our programs in Vista and have found that I need to tweak a setting but can't find it in Vista.
In XP Pro, from Windows Explorer you could click tools --> folder options --> file types tab --> advanced...
I have my hard drive partitioned so I can dual boot XP Pro and Vista Business.
I'm logged into the C: partition which has XP loaded and it is the default OS. I'm trying to load the Adobe Acrobat 7.1 update but I get error 1303 the installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory...
I checked the 2 links you suggested and they both describe how to turn on automatic logon which it is already doing, I'm trying to disable it.
Looking at my settings mentioned in the 2 links provided, automatic logon should be disabled on my PC but it is still doing it.
Very frustrating but...
We have 11 new laptops and all came with the Wave Security system and on several (mine included) it has caused problem.
My laptop stopped allowing me to login or unlock the computer using my finger print. It would say the finger print reader wasn't connected or it has failed even though it...
Alright, I finally found the solution. I used the instructions here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300 to enabled Windows Installer Logging.
I opened IE7 because I knew this caused the issue.
I then turned off the logging because it creates a new log file every time.
I opened the...
