    Wow. This worked. (At least I got past the error message) Never would have thought SNAPSHOT VIEWER CONTROL would have anything to do with functions not working...I will know for sure next week when I get some test data.. Thanks a bunch PH, here is a star. This is the best forum on the net.

    Brandon, The popup went away last evening almost as mysteriously as it appeared, about 3 hours AFTEr I applied the hot-fixes and rebooted, and has not reappeared since. We did do a netstat -an and did not see any evidence of an external connection. Thanks for the feedback.
