Under AD, set the users home directory to their folder on the server. This will map a drive whenever they logon to any machine.

I believe all the ones we had trouble with were Win95. Sorry, at this point I don't have any direction past this, however, I will say that a tech support rep from CA said that if you don't register your products within the time limit, the RPC service on the server begins acting very strangely...
We had to rebuild the TCP/IP stack on some 9x systems we had. Check out this Q article Article ID: Q191064 on MS technet site. This allowed us to see and manipulate the workstations, we couldn't before.

Not a tip, but just to let you know, we spent over 6 months with CA "technical support" to resolve our backups crashing when it was attempting to reschedule the backup job after finishing the current job. This was using ARCSERVE 2k on win 2k.

Also, configure the policy at the administration server to set and lockdown the realtime and any other options that users don't need to toy with.

Make sure that the machine you are designating as a distribution server is configured to provide signatures to other clients, and that it is downloading the necessary signatures.

Just to make sure: have you run the inopw.exe util to create an ino.sam file for the win9x machines?
This is critical as Inoc uses the local SAM to connect and manage the clients.

I have seen where if you have monitoring enabled for both directions, network browsing and most activity is slowed. Changing it to monitor incoming files only can help this problem.
