I used to have a legend, and the MIC/HFAI button doubled as the mute button. But it doesn't seem to work that way on the Magix. (I wonder how many times my user thought they were on MUTE and weren't?)
Anyway, how do you MUTE the Partner 18d handset on Magix?

That was the problem. I switched my computer awhile back and just downloaded the latest version.
So you must have PC Software that matches the version of Messager software on the PBX.
Easy enough. It's working just fine.

I have release 2.0.20
I used to get in. But it just lockes up when I try now. I've tried 6 different computers, even direct connect with cross-over cable.
I'm able to get in through voice-mail port and do programming, but I wanted to use the LAN port. It's easier for me.
I'm about 95%...
I cannot access my Merlin Messaging system via LAN.
I have Merlin Magix R.2
I'm not sure which Messaging verion I've go, but I've tried both V.1 and V.4 software to attempt the access.
I know the IP/Username/password. If I put any wrong value in, I'm immediately prompted to enter correct...

As much as I hate it, I think prehaps you are right. I cannot find any info on the matter. I'm just confused why marketing for the 4424+ brag about speakerphone quality with the Magix when it is so poor.
I was really hoping that there was something I could adjust, replace...
But the 18D handsets were working fine with the Legend. Surely, other people need to use the speaker phone feature of the Magix without upgrading to Polycom phones.
At first I thought there was something wrong with my system, but the installer said that was a known problem?
I'm comfused how...
When I upgrade from the Legend to the Magix, the speaker phone quality tanked. Where we were able to use regular 18D handsets for speaker phones, we had to move to Polycom Soundstations in the conference rooms
The problem is, executives and managers still want to use their personal handsets...
