Suppose your calendar is called cal_1.
On the Load Event of your form put the following
cal_1=date()
When you open the form the default date of the calendar is the current date.

I would do the following as a safeguard. Create a table with the fields and correct format etc.
Run a query to delete the existing data in the above table. Then run an append query to add the new data to the above table.
