    Do a STOP-A to get to the "ok" prompt and do a boot -s. If the system allows that, then you can cd /etc or /var to try to fix the permissions problems.

    In addition to checking the external SCSI ID switch on the box, you can also do a probe-scsi-all from the "ok" prompt. Your new drive(s) should show up there if you have no conflicts. I try to set external disk devices at either SCSI ID 2 or 4 and reserve 0 and 3 for internal drives...

    In addition to the things that "bstep" mentioned, make sure that the IP address for the client is in the /etc/inet/hosts file of the jumpstart server, and if your jumpstart server is also your NIS server, put the client entry in the NIS hosts file also.
